Polizeiruf 110 is a long-running German language detective television series. The first episode was broadcast 27 June 1971 in the German Democratic Republic, and after the dissolution of Fernsehen der DDR the series was picked up by ARD. It was originally created as a counterpart to the West German series Tatort, and quickly became a public favorite.

After Tim Haffling, who was convicted of murder, commits suicide after nearly ten years in prison, Jens Baumann approaches detective Hanns von Meuffels and claims that he was actually responsible for the death of 16-year-old Miriam. Von Meuffels, who investigated the original case, begins to question the old investigation and Baumann’s account.

Detective Hanns von Meuffels investigates the murder of a hotel employee in a Bavarian village. His colleague Constanze Hermann, who is staying there while trying to confront her drinking problem, claims to have seen a mysterious wolf-like figure the night before. As further evidence suggests that a wolf is roaming the area, the investigators begin to unravel the connection between the animal, the murder and the villagers.
