Season 1 • Episode 1
Overworked employee Oohashi Rei suddenly finds herself in the world of her favorite otome game as its protagonist, Rae Taylor. But she's not here to romance the game's male leads - she's in love with the villainess!
Rae sets her sights on her dream job as Claire's maid - and she'll do whatever it takes to get it.
Realizing that Claire is in love with Thane, Rae tries to direct events she recognizes from the game toward getting Thane and Claire together, despite her own feelings for Claire.
Rae impresses her teacher and classmates at the academy with her proficiency in magic... and is quickly forced to put her skills into practice when a huge monster attacks.
Rae and Claire both pass the written exam for entry into the Academy Knights. The next step is the practical exam, which pits the examinees against each other in mock battles to determine who is truly worthy to join the Knights.
The Foundation Day Fair is coming up, and the Academy Knights discuss what sort of shop they should open. An offhanded comment by Rae leads to the proposal of a cross-dressing café.
Rae makes the most of the Foundation Day Fair, working hard at the cross-dressing café and even convincing Claire to walk around the fair with her. But an incident with a group of bitter commoners casts a shadow over the festive atmosphere...
The Royal Academy is rocked by scandal when a noble student allegedly attacks a commoner student with magic. The situation escalates when the attacker receives minimal punishment, spurring commoners to protest so violently that the school must be closed.
As a darker plot is revealed behind the commoner uprising, the academy is plunged into peril. Can Rae and Claire defeat the conspirators and deal with the resulting aftermath?
Princess Manaria of the Sousse Kingdom, an old childhood friend of Claire's, shows up to visit her. Manaria has it all—good looks, charisma, tremendous magic proficiency—and to top it off, Claire is quite taken with her. It seems Rae has a new rival...
Rae insists she just wants Claire to be happy, even if she can't be with her. Manaria tells her she's just running away, and if her feelings for Claire are true, she'll fight for her. So begins their duel to determine who will stay by Claire's side...
Manaria challenges Rae to prove her feelings for Claire at the Amour Ceremony. Both Rae and Manaria must place an item on the Scales of Love, which will measure the weight of their feelings for Claire. Who will the scales find worthy?
